Haven HouseHaven House is dedicated to improving the quality of life for abused women and their children and through the generous support of our friends and supporters; we are able to provide the services needed in our goal to end domestic violence.

Hotline
Our trained bilingual staff operates a confidential 24-hour Hotline to provide crisis intervention, information, and referrals. Counselors are available 365 days a year and address every emergency situation with calm efficiency, care and respect. 

Residential Program
Operated in a confidential location of Los Angeles County, our residential program is a 45 day emergency shelter with the ability to accommodate 36 domestic violence victims and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Residents receive food, clothing and medical assistance to address their physical needs. Additionally, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, domestic violence education, legal and social services advocacy are provided to address their emotional needs.

Children’s Program
The Haven House children’s program provides children of all ages a safe, nurturing atmosphere where they are offered individual counseling to raise self esteem, art therapy and educational group services that focus on prevention and intervention of family violence. Additionally, mothers receive family counseling promoting positive and effective parenting skills. Children attend local public schools while in residence.

Community Outreach
This program is designed to provide follow-up support to residents after they leave Haven House. Life management skills are improved through individual and group counseling services which promote self-sufficiency. Clients learn about crisis management, setting goals, transitional or low cost housing options, available social services, and also receive assistance with legal advocacy in courts. This program also seeks to build community awareness and support by providing domestic violence education and training to volunteers.

Prevention & Education Program
This program provides completely free domestic violence education, presentations, prevention trainings and other resources to schools, businesses, civic agencies, and faith-based organizations. Topics include Domestic Violence in the Workplace, Teen Dating Violence and Healthy Relationships, and Parenting Skills.
