OUR MISSION

The Mission of Haven House is to help abused women and their children on their way towards a life free of violence by providing a safe haven for them.  This includes counseling services for women and their children in residence; follow-up support services for former residents, and counseling for community clients who are not residents of the shelter.  Haven House also strives to educate the public about domestic violence and advocate for the needs of battered women with makers for public policy. 

OUR PHILOSOPHY

It is the belief of Haven House that abused Women are not sick and do not need treatment, they need assistance with the situational crisis they are in.  Haven House recognizes the emotional and educational support these women need and offers this assistance through housing, counseling and community advocacy in a manner that empowers women with the tools they need to live healthy, safe, happy lives.  It is not the policy of Haven House to advise women to stay or leave their abusers; however choices and options are given so that these women may make their own informed decisions.
